Is This You?

Maybe you're good at handling everything except what's actually going on inside you. Maybe anger comes easier than sadness. Maybe you've been told you're hard to reach emotionally, by a partner, by family, by yourself. Maybe you've just never had a space where being fully honest felt like an option. A lot of men get to adulthood without ever learning how to do that. This is a place to actually learn it.

What This Often Looks Like

  • Difficulty naming or expressing emotions beyond frustration or anger
  • Feeling disconnected from partners, family, or yourself
  • Carrying stress, pressure, or old patterns without an outlet
  • A sense that something needs to change, even if you can't fully name what

How We Work Together

I bring myself honestly into the room with you, no performance, no clinical distance. My approach is relational psychodynamic and person centered, which means the relationship between us becomes a place to practice something a lot of men haven't had much practice with, being direct, being honest, and still being respected for it. I don't avoid the hard conversations, and I won't ask you to either. This isn't about becoming a different person. It's about finally dealing with what's actually there.

What You Can Expect

Sessions are direct and conversational, not soft or performative. Many clients find they begin to:

  • Name what they're actually feeling, not just what they're doing about it
  • Feel more present in relationships that matter to them
  • Understand patterns instead of just reacting to them
  • Trust that being direct and being respected aren't mutually exclusive

Common Questions

A few things people usually want to know before reaching out. If you don't see your question here, feel free to ask during your free consultation.

I'm not really a 'talk about my feelings' kind of guy. Is this still for me?

Yes. This isn't about forcing a style that doesn't fit you. I meet you where you are and work from there, direct, honest, and at your pace.

What kinds of things do men typically come to you for?

It varies a lot, relationship struggles, feeling stuck or disconnected, complex trauma, or patterns they can't seem to shake. If something more specific comes up, like personality patterns or trauma, we can go deeper into that too.

Does it matter that you're a man?

For some clients, yes, it makes opening up feel more natural. For others, it's not a deciding factor either way. What matters most is whether the relationship feels honest and useful to you.

How direct are you, really?

Pretty direct. I bring my honest reactions into the room, and I don't avoid hard conversations. That said, direct doesn't mean harsh, it means honest, with respect.

I've never done therapy before. What's the first session like?

Low pressure. We'll talk through what brought you in and get a feel for whether this is a good fit. No pressure to have it all figured out.
