Is This You?
Maybe conversations turn into arguments more often than not. Maybe you feel more like roommates or co-parents than partners. Maybe there's been a specific hurt, or just a slow drift that's hard to name. Whatever brought you here, wanting to work on your relationship is a sign of investment, not failure.
What This Often Looks Like
- Repeating the same arguments without resolution
- Feeling emotionally or physically distant from your partner
- Difficulty communicating without it turning into conflict
- Rebuilding trust after a betrayal or difficult season
How We Work Together
My approach is relational and attachment based, which means we look closely at the patterns between you, not just the surface level disagreements. I bring myself honestly into the room, and I don't avoid the hard conversations, because real change usually requires going toward the difficult stuff, together, not around it. We'll work on understanding what's underneath the conflict, rebuilding trust and connection, and finding a way of relating that actually works for both of you.
What You Can Expect
The first session is for both of you together, to talk through your history and what brought you in. From there, sessions are a mix of conversation and practical work on communication and connection. Many couples find they begin to:
- Argue less, and actually hear each other more
- Feel more emotionally connected
- Rebuild trust after a betrayal or hard season
- Feel like a team again

Common Questions
A few things people usually want to know before reaching out. If you don't see your question here, feel free to ask during your free consultation.
What if my partner doesn't want to come to therapy?
That is a very common situation, and it can certainly feel frustrating when you're ready to start working on the relationship. However, to protect everyone involved and maintain strict clinical neutrality, I hold a clear boundary on roles: I do not transition an individual therapy client into couples therapy, nor do I shift a couples client into individual therapy. Starting individually with one partner creates an inherent conflict of interest and can compromise the balanced, neutral space required for effective couples work.If your partner isn't ready for couples therapy yet, we can meet for individual therapy to focus entirely on your growth, boundaries, and personal goals. Should you both decide down the road that you are ready to pursue couples work together, I will gladly provide trusted referrals to dedicated couples therapists so you both can start fresh with a completely neutral third party.
Does needing couples therapy mean our relationship is failing?
Not at all. Coming to therapy is usually a sign you both still want to invest in the relationship. Waiting until things feel unfixable is often what makes things harder, not the other way around.
Can couples therapy help after an affair or betrayal?
Yes, it's some of the work I see most often. Rebuilding trust takes time and honesty on both sides, but it's genuinely possible.
Will you take sides?
No. My role is to understand both of your experiences and help you understand each other, not to decide who's right.
How is your approach different from other couples therapy?
I bring myself honestly into the room and don't shy away from direct conversations. My approach is relational and attachment based, focused on understanding the deeper patterns driving the conflict, not just smoothing over the surface.
